UPDATE: Third suspect wanted on assault of a man in wheelchair on Canada Day

OSHAWA, Ont. — Durham Region Police say they have information about a third suspect wanted in connection with an alleged Canada Day assault on a man in a wheelchair. Police also say they have more details about one of the two suspects they were already seeking in the investigation.

Police say the 50-year-old man was on an Oshawa, Ont., bicycle path on July 1 when he became involved in an altercation with the suspects. It’s alleged one of the suspects struck the man in the head. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police have released descriptions of the three suspects they’re looking for.

  • Suspect number one: Female, white, five feet four inches tall, thin build, wearing an oversized white t-shirt, baggy athletic shorts and a black baseball cap
  • Suspect number two: Female, white with blonde hair
  • Suspect number three: Female, white, five feet four inches tall, thin build, blonde hair, wearing a blue tank top and denim shorts. This suspect was pulling a red wagon with a young child in it.

Investigators say they are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects.
