TORONTO – Toronto police are renewing efforts to find Stephen Lapowich last seen in March, 2011.

Lapowich left Toronto two years ago for a vacation in Puerto Rico and has not been seen since.

Toronto police cooperation with numerous international police forces has failed to find the 30-year-old.

“Holidays, birthdays, family dinners, when my young grandchildren are there and I know I shouldn’t talk about Stephen because my older granddaughter is so aware about him being missing, these are the times that are the hardest to get through,” Lapowich’s mother Gayle Lapowich said. “I try to be optimistic but I really seesaw between that and despair.”

The family is also offering a $30,000 reward for information that leads to the missing man.

A retired Toronto police officer who now works as a private investigator has also been hired by the family to travel to Puerto Rico and search for Stephen.
