Trailer released for Montreal-made ‘White House Down’

TORONTO – Here is your first look at the trailer for White House Down, the fast-paced action flick largely shot in Montreal last year and coming to cinemas this summer.

The movie stars Channing Tatum as a police officer who has to protect the U.S. president, played by Jamie Foxx, when the White House comes under attack by terrorists.

It was directed by Roland Emmerich, who made the 2004 disaster film The Day After Tomorrow in Montreal and also helmed the apocalyptic flick 2012.

Most of White House Down was filmed at Mel’s Cite du Cinema.

Montreal-born actress Rachelle Lefevre has a role in the movie, which also features Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Woods and Jason Clarke.

White House Down opens June 28, only three months after the similarly-themed Olympus Has Fallen.
