An air quality advisory has been issued for the Fredericton area due to smoke from forest fires in New Brunswick.
Environment Canada says high levels of air pollution are expected to develop in the provincial capital and Southern York County due to the smoke, which it says may move south and affect southern New Brunswick later today.

A heat advisory also remains in effect for much of New Brunswick with temperatures expected to reach as high as 33 degrees Celsius in some areas.
The weather agency says conditions are expected to improve this afternoon and this evening as a cold front passes through, bringing slightly cooler and drier air.
