Police charge two men in alleged Kanata carjacking

Ottawa Police are investigating a suspected carjacking that occurred in the west end of Ottawa Monday night.

Police received calls at around 9 p.m. on Monday about the alleged carjacking. The vehicle was located a short time later after a single vehicle collision with injuries.

Two male suspects fled from the stolen vehicle after the crash, leaving a 26-year-old female passenger injured inside the vehicle. The female was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Several officers and two K9 units were involved in a short pursuit and were successful in locating and arresting both males. Both males were transported to hospital with minor injuries sustained from the earlier collision.

The two men, Dylan Mulmeester, 25, of Ottawa, and Sebastien Bureau, 24, of Aylmer, Que., were charged with several robbery-related offences and were scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
