Puppy and Poppy

In just one month I will have a 2 year old on my hands!  She has come a long way in the last year.  She talks non stop, from sun up to sun down..
we still don’t know what she is saying most of the time.  As she accumulates more words, it makes me
realize that it’s amazing anyone learns English.  There are so many homonyms.. and all those pronouns..
it can get tricky… and we haven’t even begun the written grammar rules..
oh  man!

Today I pinned on my poppy, saying the word to Brooklyn while pointing at my lapel.  “Puppy”
she squealed back pointing at the poppy and then at our “puppy” Jasper.  “Hmmm.. not quite, love” I tried to sound out
the differences between the two words.. but she just stared at me blankly
before saying “puppy” numerous times.  It’s
a favourite word.
