It’s been six days since hockey coach and father of two Paul Bennett was murdered in the driveway of his Cloverdale home, and police are appealing to anyone who may have video surveillance of a suspicious vehicle.
Flyers have been left at doors in Clayton Heights by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) reading, “The investigation has identified a silver Honda Civic in the area prior to the homicide.”
Police are asking for any information, but are specifically interested in video surveillance.
Neighbours had raised concerns about a silver Honda Civic seen in the area in the days leading up to the shooting.
Earlier this week, a video began circulating on social media that appears to show part of the shooting: a silver car pulling up to Bennett’s driveway and a person with dark clothing getting out.

Moments later, shots can be heard. The person then goes back into the car and it speeds away.

IHIT said the video was released prematurely, and that it has greatly impacted the investigation.
Police have yet to identify a motive but IHIT said the murder was not a random incident.
Anyone with information is urged to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-4448, or contact Crime Stoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.
