Man’s shooting death in north Edmonton ruled homicide

A 54-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a man in north Edmonton earlier this week.

Gilles Georges Andre Gauthier was arrested in Calgary on Thursday and charged with first-degree murder.

The charge comes after Darren Kevin Saile, 45, was found dead inside a home in the area of 113 Avenue and 103 Street early Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the house at around 12:30 a.m. after reports of gunshots.

An autopsy confirmed Saile died of a gunshot wound and his death was ruled a homicide.
