It’s Passover! How to say ‘Happy Holiday’ in Hebrew

Many Canadians will be celebrating Passover – the eight-day festival observed in early spring that commemorates the emancipation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt.

So, how do you wish someone a “Happy Passover”?

Typically, people use the traditional Hebrew greeting “Chag Sameach” (or חַג שָׂמֵחַ), which means “joyous festival” (or “happy holiday”).
