Senators assistant GM Randy Lee is facing a new charge of harassment under what the Erie County district attorney’s office says is a different subsection of the law.
“Mr. Lee was arraigned under Subsection 1 of Harassment in the Second Degree — ‘He or she strikes, shoves, kicks or otherwise subjects such other person to physical contact, or attempts or threatens to do the same,’” said Kait Munro, spokesperson for the DA’s office.
“The new charge is under Subsection 3 — ‘He or she engages in a course of conduct or repeatedly commits acts which alarm or seriously annoy such other person and which serve no legitimate purpose.’”
The incident in question allegedly took place while Lee was in Buffalo during the NHL rookie combine. It is alleged that Lee touched the driver of a shuttle inappropriately and made several lewd remarks.
Lee, who was suspended by the Senators organization on June 15, is scheduled to appear in court on July 6.
