Cellphone video shows the moment a 17-year-old boy emerged from a burning plane after it crashed in Detroit, Mich., on Sunday.

Peyton Boaz, 17, was the only surviving passenger on a single-engine plane heading to Coleman A. Young International Airport on June 24.

Boaz’s parents, Greg, 54, and Julie Boaz, 48, both died.

According to ABC News, the plane hit a tree, flipped over and caught fire after coming from Texas.

No injuries on the ground were reported.

A spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the pilot had “reported a landing gear problem and low fuel to air traffic controllers shortly before the accident,” according to the Detroit Free Press.

Boaz remains in hospital with third-degree burns, according to a GoFundMe page for the teen.

The creator of the campaign for Boaz claims to be his best friend of 10 years. She also wrote that Boaz had been removed from a ventilator and that his vital signs are good.

The FAA are still investigating the crash.
