Woman assaulted, man shot inside Surrey home: RCMP

Just days after Paul Bennett was gunned down in the driveway of his Cloverdale home, Surrey RCMP is investigating another targeted shooting.

Police say a woman was assaulted and a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound inside a Surrey home on Monday, June 25, at approximately 11:25 p.m.

RCMP officers responded to several 911 calls from people who reported hearing the sounds of gunshots from a home in the 7700-block of 184 Street.

When they arrived, they found the injured woman and man inside the home.

Both were transported to hospital.

Police say the suspect, in this case, fled the scene prior to officers arriving.

As a result of the preliminary investigation, police believe this was a targeted incident. The victims and suspect are believed to be known to one another, and the victims are known to police.

The Surrey RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit has taken conduct of the investigation and is asking witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward to police.
