Police are searching for a 47-year-old man after an armed assault in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, in Montreal’s West Island.
Officers responded to a 911 call placed around 11:30 a.m. after an incident was reported at the corner of Sunnybrooke Boulevard and Hyman Drive Street.
“It seems that a conflict degenerated between the suspect and the victim,” said Andrée-Anne Picard, spokesperson with Montreal police.

“They were hitting each other and finally, the suspect took out a sharp object.”
The suspect left the scene before police officers arrived.
The 72-year-old victim suffered injuries to his upper body and was transported to hospital.
“He was conscious, but his life could be in danger,” Picard said.
“We are waiting for more information from the hospital.”
Crime scene technicians are on the way to the scene.
The incident did not force any road closures.
