Winnipeg Police Service has several new additions to the force.
Police Dog Veyda began labour at 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning. As of 1:15 p.m., she was still in labour, having given birth to several puppies earlier in the day.

Police said the pups’ father, Police Dog Hector, is looking forward to meeting his offspring.
Both mother and puppies are doing well.
Veyda is a narcotic detection specialist and Hector is a general detection dog, but has also been trained to detect narcotics.
