Yet another threat has been found inside a high school in the Region of Waterloo, which brings the number of messages being investigated by police in the last week up to four.

The latest was found on Wednesday at Eastwood Collegiate Institute in Kitchener, according to Principal Ryan Hume.

“We immediately reported this threat to the Waterloo Regional Police Service and they are currently investigating to determine the author and legitimacy of the message,” Hume said in a statement.

Two messages were discovered at a pair of high schools on Tuesday. The first message was found inside Kitchener’s Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute and the school was placed in a hold and secure.

“School shooting today — at 9:50 a.m. Cancel school today. Come tomorrow. Watch out b****es,” the message read.

A few hours later another message was discovered at Glenview Park Secondary School in Cambridge and read, “Watch out Glenview. Gun shooting Thursday March 29.”

Police said the two messages on Tuesday were likely authored by copycats from the first message that was discovered last week inside a washroom at Huron Heights Secondary School in Kitchener.

That message warned of a school shooting on Wednesday and school resource officers spent the day at Huron Heights and other schools as a precaution.

Police said no major school-related incidents took place on Wednesday, but a dedicated police presence will be back at the schools on Thursday.

No arrests have been made in any of the incidents.

“These are very serious incidents and they will be investigated very seriously,” said police spokesperson Cherri Greeno. “There’s consequences in terms of criminal charges that could arise out of an investigation like this.”
