After more than six months without an executive director, Steve Ryall has been named as the new head of the London Humane Society.
Ryall, who grew up in Thamesford, started the job on Monday.
“I spent the week so far getting to know the staff, first and foremost, and learning about what they do here exactly and will continue to do so for not just the coming weeks but for the future. It’s a pretty dynamic staff here.”

While he hasn’t worked in a humane society before, Ryall told 980 CFPL that he has a lot of experience with not-for-profits and event management.
“Obviously, I personally have a passion for the animals and what they do here at the shelter. I just felt my skill set fit really well with what was needed and reached out with them and made that connection and carried on through that process.”
Judy Foster stepped down as executive director last September but no reason was given for her departure.
