Mike’s Monday Outlook: mild start to spring

Cloudy outlook from Winnipeg Beach. Lynda Kolly/submitted

More mild weather is expected as spring officially begins Tuesday.

We’re starting the week with high pressure sitting near Hudson Bay which is keeping the skies clear to the north but in the south, low pressure is keeping the skies cloudy and could bring some light snow Monday night, although most of it should stay south of the border.

Low pressure will linger for the better part of the week keeping the clouds around. This will lessen any major temperature changes. We won’t lose much heat overnight but also won’t warm up a lot during the day.

As the skies clear later in the week, this will allow for some slightly warmer temperatures but in the meantime, it’ll be a slow melt around Winnipeg and much of southern Manitoba.
