Bear spray used in southwest Calgary home invasion: police

Police were called to a home in southwest Calgary Tuesday morning after reports of a home invasion.

Police said that “a number of men” forced their way into an apartment in the 100 block of 24 Ave. S.W. near Macleod Trail S.W.

The men were armed with bear spray.

Two of the residents in the home were assaulted. Calgary EMS confirmed that one victim was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The suspects fled the scene before police arrived at around 2 a.m.

Police said they continue to investigate.
