Officers canvased the neighbourhood for witnesses, and believe both the victim and suspect knew each other.

Investigators believe the shooting is linked to ongoing gang violence in the region.

A white SUV and a black sedan were both seen leaving the area after the shooting. IHIT says they are looking for anyone who has information on those two vehicles.

Anybody with any information is asked to contact IHIT or, if they wish to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers.
