Late night fire bug on a destructive prowl in the north Okanagan

Three garage fires in two days on the same street in Armstrong were deliberately set.

The first was at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday when a door and vinyl siding of a residential garage on Warner Avenue were damaged.

At about the same time Friday morning, the fire department was called to a garage fully engulfed in flames. Significant damage was caused to the attached home.

While on scene, emergency crews were directed to another Warner Avenue home where the garage was on fire. The homeowner extinguished the flames which caused moderate damage.

Police are investigating all three fires as arson.

“We are alive to the fact that these fires have occurred within a short period of time and have similar circumstances,” says RCMP Cst. Kelly Brett.

“We are confident that someone has information that can further these investigations and are asking anyone with information to contact us.”
