The band will have violinist Lindsey Stirling co-headlining their 2018 summer amphitheatre tour across North America.

The band announced the news earlier today on their Twitter page. “We’re very excited to announce our Summer North American 2018 tour with @LindseyStirling across the US – Synthesis style, with live orchestra!” the announcement read.

The tour will make one Canadian stop on July 27 in Toronto at the Budweiser Stage.

Evanescence released their fourth studio album, Synthesis, on Nov. 10, 2017. The new album found the rock band reimagining some of their most popular songs from their previous albums, complete with an orchestra backing, electronics, combined with the band and Amy Lee’s virtuoso piano and voice.

The addition of Stirling to the tour will allow for collaboration during the concerts, as the band recently pulled in Stirling for a violin solo on the song Hi-Lo from the new album.

“This is a total passion project for me. There are so many layers in our music, underneath the huge drums and guitars,” lead singer Amy Lee explained before the Synthesis fall tour. “This will be our first time touring with an orchestra and I’m so excited to perform this way — really focus on the vocals, and the emotion and the story we’ve built over the years.”

She said they were calling the new album Synthesis because “it is the synthesis, the combination, the contrast, the synergy between the organic and the synthetic and also the past and the present.”

“This album is about orchestra and electronica. We’re taking our music, stripping out the big distorted guitars, stripping out the rock drums and replacing it with full orchestration in a completely synthetic world of beats and sounds,” Amy Lee revealed.

Amy Lee said the band went through its catalogue and selected songs that were “made to be heard in this way.” She also clarified that the songs are not remixes, but complete reworkings.

Both artists’ shows will be accompanied by a full orchestra.

The pre-sale for the tour will begin Wednesday, March 7 at 10 a.m. ET/PT. Tickets for the tour will go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, March 9 at 10 a.m. ET/PT at LiveNation.com.
