People should allow themselves more time accessing the Saskatoon Airport terminal building as construction gets underway on improving curbside access and providing more parking options.

Officials say the groundside construction project will affect all access into, out of, and around the front of the terminal.

Pick-up and drop-off space on the curb in front of the terminal will also be limited during construction.

Skyxe Saskatoon Airport president and CEO Stephen Maybury said this is another step in updating access to the terminal from the ground.

“The groundside access project will provide enduring capacity, address aging infrastructure and provide more options to our guest,” Maybury stated in a release.

Airport officials said among the changes will be efficient pick-up and drop-off spaces.

There will also be new technologies that will allow drivers to choose the parking option that best fits their needs.

Construction is expected to be completed by late October.
