Road worker dead after alleged impaired driving accident in Dorval

A 44-year-old Transports Quebec worker is dead and six other people are injured after an alleged impaired driver crashed his vehicle in Dorval late Friday night.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) say that around 11:30 p.m., a 38-year-old man was driving westbound on Highway 20 when he crashed into an SUV, pushing it into a closed lane where Transports Quebec had a crew of workers.

The driver of the SUV and five others were taken to hospital. The SQ say their injuries are non-life-threatening.

The SQ also says that alcohol could be a factor, claiming the suspect had almost double the legal amount of alcohol in his system.

He could face charges for impaired driving causing death when he appears in court Saturday afternoon.
