Winnipeg Jets goalie Michael Hutchinson will return to the lineup Friday after sitting out more than two weeks with a concussion.

Hutchinson will back up Connor Hellebuyck when the Jets open a two-game road trip against the St. Louis Blues. He’s missed the last six games after a puck struck him in the mask during a morning skate.

Hutchinson has served as the Jets’ backup goalie ever since Steve Mason suffered his second concussion of the season last month. Mason has also been cleared to play but won’t suit up for a game until he logs a little more practice time.

To make room on the roster for Hutchinson, the Jets sent Eric Comrie down to the AHL’s Manitoba Moose. Comrie didn’t play a single game during his latest stint in the NHL.
