Longueuil police are investigating a large amount of a mysterious white powder that was found outside an IKEA warehouse in Brossard, on Wednesday afternoon.

Police responded to a call by  IKEA store employees at around 2 p.m.

The unidentified powder was found in a dumpster behind the IKEA distribution store on Place de la Couronne in Brossard, police said.

The employees were in contact with the powder but police say they are not showing any symptoms and are fine.

An ambulance was on scene but only as a precaution, Longueuil police said.

The substance is unknown at this time, and police say they will examine the substance overnight.

A perimeter will be in place around the area until the investigation is complete.
