Last fall, the city sent out a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the transport and sale of the train and wound up selling it for $7,000.

The train was expected to be leaving the Bridge City today but transporters experienced a couple of minor detours with loading. They’re hoping for the train’s last Saskatoon departure in the near future.

The Saskatoon icon’s departure clears the way for the construction of Phase 1 of the Kinsmen Park and Area Master Plan, which will include the installation of a new longer train ride.
