Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is urging British Columbians to help fill the 5,500 blood donation appointments needed by March 10.
The non-profit organization said donations have gone down by 40 per cent across Canada over the past 10 years.
“Everybody is getting busier and so we require people to take time out of their day,” said donor relations director David Patterson.
He said there was also a decrease of donations during the winter, which is why they need to fill out 35,000 appointments across Canada.
CBS said the appointments need to be filled before the Mar. 10 deadline to ensure all their patients get the blood they need.
