Winnipeg Jets’ Mark Scheifele honoured by NHL

Winnipeg Jets centre Mark Scheifele has been named the NHL‘s Third Star of the Week after collecting three goals and four assists in three games.

Scheifele started the stretch by scoring the shorthanded game-tying goal plus two assists against the Washington Capitals last Tuesday. He then collected another three points on Friday versus the Colorado Avalanche before finishing the week with a goal against the Florida Panthers on Sunday.

Winnipeg won all three games to take over first place in the Central Division.

Scheifele sits in a tie for second in team scoring with 46 points in 43 games.

This is the fifth time this season a member of the Jets has been honoured by the NHL with a weekly award.
