Regina Police have arrested a man after a homicide in Regina on Sunday evening.
Police were called to the 1400 block of Pasqua Street at approximately 8:10 p.m. for a report of an injured man.
When police and EMS arrived, they found an injured 40-year-old man who was brought to hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The man’s injuries appeared to be the result of an apparent firearms offence resulting from a suspected robbery.
Later that same night, approximately an hour later at 9:09 p.m., Police were advised of a possible stolen vehicle in northeast Regina, believed to be occupied by the same suspect in the earlier robbery and homicide on Pasqua Street. After many attempts to stop the vehicle, it eventually collided with a police vehicle at Albert Street and College Avenue.
Chad Barre, 31, of Regina, was apprehended at the scene, arrested and charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and numerous other charges.
On February 22, police also arrested a 34-year-old male in connection with the homicide.
Barre made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 9:30 a.m.
This is Regina’s second homicide in 2018.
