A man is in custody following a lengthy standoff in Burlington.
Police say the incident started last night as a domestic situation at a Milton restaurant and officers found the man’s vehicle at his home near Upper Middle Road and Guelph Line.
Officers who responded to the home were allegedly threatened by the man with a firearm, who then barricaded himself in the home.
A Tactical Response Unit used tear gas and pepper spray to resolve the seven-hour long standoff.
Police say the man is now in the care of paramedics.
