Highway one is also closed in both directions from Field to the Alberta border.

DriveBC says a winter storm warning issued by Environment Canada forecasts snowfall amounts of 30 to 50 centimetres.

Highway closures for avalanche control are expected west of Revelstoke, Glacier National Park, and Kicking Horse Canyon.
