Fire guts condos at Panorama ski resort

CALGARY- A fire has caused major damage to a condo complex at the Panorama Mountain Village ski resort near Invermere B.C.

The fire broke out early this morning at 1000 Peaks Lodge at the base of the ski resort.

Crews managed to contain the flames to the top floor of the five storey building.

Everyone got out safely and no one was injured.

Guests have been moved to other facilities in the resort.

Up to 12 condos, which are individually owned, were gutted in the fire while others suffered extensive water damage.

Guests have been moved to other facilities in the resort.

Fire crews remained on the scene Wednesday afternoon to put out hot spots.

The resort remains in full operation while firefighters investigate the cause.
