The Calgary Flames assigned the veteran forward to Czech squad HC Kladno. It’s a homecoming for Jagr, a native of Kladno, Czech Republic, who also is a co-owner of the franchise.
Calgary signed Jagr to a one-year contract in October but the 45-year-old had just one goal and six assists in 22 games. Jagr cleared waivers Monday, a day after the Flames waived him.

Jagr has recorded 766 goals and 1,921 points over his NHL career, good for third and second all-time in those categories. He has also played in 1,733 career games, behind only Mark Messier (1,756) and Gordie Howe (1,767) in league history.
“Jaromir’s career speaks for itself,” Treliving said. “He is a legend in our sport and we are very appreciative that he selected Calgary to pursue his career in the NHL.”
