The body of an adult was discovered by firefighters following a house fire in Minden Hills Township on Saturday morning.
Haliburton Highlands OPP say firefighters responded to the structure fire on Highway 35 north of Nye Lane, about 8 kilometres south of Minden.
“Upon arrive the structure was fully engulfed in flames,” stated Const. Dianna Dauphinee
After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters found an adult and a pet deceased inside.
No other information is available pending the results of a post-mortem examination.
The Haliburton Highlands OPP Crime unit, Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM), and the Office of the Chief Coroner are investigating.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
UPDATE TUESDAY:
The deceased male has been identified as 42-year-old Johnathon Webb of Trent Lakes, Ont.
“The investigation has concluded and the cause of death has been determined to be not suspicious,” stated Dauphinee.
