Man dead after single-vehicle crash in Scarborough

A man has died after his vehicle crashed into a pole and then slid into a fence of an apartment building in Scarborough early Sunday.

Toronto police said the vehicle struck a pole near Kingston Road and Guildwood Parkway around 12:45 a.m.

The man was rushed to hospital suffering from a severe head injury, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Kingston Road was closed from Dale Avenue to Guildwood Parkway as police conducted their investigation, but the road has since been reopened.
