Montrealers waited over an hour Friday morning for the Best Buy on Sainte-Catherine Street to open so they could benefit from Black Friday deals.
Doors opened at 8 a.m., but some were standing in front of the electronic store as early as 6:30 a.m.
“I took the day off so I could be early here,” Wilson Mercedes, a shopper, said.

When customers were let into the store, some had already planned what they would get their hands on first.
“Yesterday I scouted out Best Buy so all I could think was, ‘I really hope the cameras are in the same spot as yesterday so I can find them easily,” Jesse Luimes, a shopper, said.

Shoppers insisted they saved hundreds of dollars because they waited for Black Friday.
Even the possibility of online shopping didn’t influence the shoppers.
“I wanted it immediately,” Luimes said. “I wasn’t being very patient.”
