Longueuil police continue search for serial attacker

LONGUEUIL – Police have released a sketch of a man accused in a series of attacks involving young women in Brossard.

Investigators recently established that the suspect could have been involved in a dozen attacks that have occurred since 2010. So far, no arrests have been made.

The attacks all took place within a relatively small area near the Champlain Mall in Brossard.

Police describe the suspect as aged between 24 to 27 years, about 5’7″ (1.75 metres) tall, between 160-170 pounds (73-77 kg). He has brown hair and speaks English and French with an accent.

Mark David, a spokesperson for the Longueuil police, noted that the attacks have generally occurred in the evening and the attacker often threatened his victims with a weapon.

Longueuil police will set up a command post in Brossard on Thursday evening in order to raise awareness about the attacks, share prevention advice and distribute copies of the sketch of the suspect.
