Bombers’ Tristan Okpalaugo honoured by CFL with weekly award

Defensive end Tristan Okpalaugo has been named a Shaw CFL Top Performer of the Week after helping the Winnipeg Blue Bombers pick up a win in their regular-season finale against the Calgary Stampeders on Friday.

Okpalaugo scooped up a fumble late in the second quarter and returned it 52 yards for a touchdown. He also registered six tackles and a game-high three sacks in the 23-5 victory. By beating the Stampeders, the Bombers clinched their first home playoff game since 2011.

This is the 14th time a member of the Bombers has been honoured by the league this season.
