Xavier Dolan film nominated for Cesar in France

PARIS – Quebec director Xavier Dolan’s Laurence Anyways has been nominated for a Cesar – France’s equivalent of an Oscar.

The movie is one of seven to make the cut in the best-foreign-film category.

It’ll be up against some stiff competition, including Ben Affleck’s Argo and Ken Loach’s The Angels’ Share.

The Cesar winners will be announced in Paris on Feb. 22.

Laurence Anyways has also received 10 nominations in the inaugural Canadian Screen Awards, which are set for Toronto on March 3.
