Many fleeing the chaos of the California wildfires have lost their pets in the process, but thankfully, some are now reuniting with their furry family members.
The Sonoma County Animal Services Facebook page has been sharing stories of the painful separations and the heartwarming reunions.

One such story was of a woman named Michelle, whose two cats jumped out of her car when she was trying to escape the raging wildfires.
“There was no time to search for them as the police had just arrived and told them to evacuate immediately. Heartbroken, and with many tears, Michelle and her parents fled to safety,” the animal services organization explained.

But as soon as she could, Michelle began searching for her cats, the Facebook post explained. She finally found one, who had been treated for paw injuries at the animal shelter.
A video of her reunion with Tiger was shared online:
The animal centre also shared the story of Zorro and his owners, who were separated earlier this month.
The 12-year-old dog had gotten lost in the confusion of the wildfire, as the family was out volunteering to provide supplies to affected community members.
The family searched for him tirelessly, and was finally reunited with their pooch about a week later, when they saw him on the organization’s website.
Several animals awaiting reunions
While some animals are slowly reconnecting with their owners, there are many still waiting.
Another Facebook page, titled Sonoma & Napa Fires Missing and Found Pets, is also helping the process. The Facebook page has been sharing photos of pets in hopes they will be reclaimed by their owners.
The Sonoma County, which has been one of the worst hit by wildfires since they started on Oct. 8, has faced widespread evacuations. The Tubbs fire has ravaged the region, destroying about 5,300 structures, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
