Environment Canada says the commute to work and school Tuesday morning will be a windy one.

The national weather agency has issued a special weather statement for London, Parkhill, Strathroy, Komoka, Eastern Middlesex County and Western Middlesex County. Environment Canada says wind gusts are expected to increase Monday night into Tuesday morning.

The forecast calls for wind gusts up to 80 km/h throughout the day on Tuesday.

It’s expected the wind will be strongest along the shores of Lake Huron and Lake Erie.

The strong gusty winds will last throughout Tuesday night before dying down Wednesday morning.

The windy weather comes amid a return to traditional October-like weather. After a string of days of 20 degree weather the forecast for the majority of the week calls for temperatures between 10 and 14 degrees.
