It’s hard not to notice the stench of poop emanating from various parts of the city this week.
The foul air had many wondering where the smell was coming from.

Fortunately, the smell wafting in the air isn’t toxic or dangerous.

Coun. Mike Layton tweeted on Friday the source is from an organic fertilizer being applied to sports fields across the city.
The annual event is part of city’s fall field maintenance plan.
Despite the nuisance, the poo smell isn’t supposed to last very long and is expected to clear in the next few days.
