Star Trek legend William Shatner is beaming into London this weekend to headline Comic Con.
Shatner, who famously played Captain Kirk in the original Star Trek TV series, will be at the Western Fair’s Progress building Friday and Saturday to meet with fans and participate in a live stage question-and-answer session.
“What I enjoy is talking to the fans and entertaining them and fielding questions and that sort of thing. That’s what’s enjoyable,” Shatner said.
For Shatner, these conventions offer more than just an opportunity to meet fans.
“I get silent auction items from people. We start a conversation and I tell them my needs and they’re only too anxious to help me out with some kind of item that’s not usual that I can put up for auction to help raise money for kids and veterans,” he said.
Besides Shatner, WWE legend Mick Foley is scheduled to appear at the convention on Saturday and Sunday.
London Comic Con starts Friday at 4:30 p.m. and runs until Sunday.
About 10,000 people are expected to attend this weekend.
