A 23-year-old man was seriously injured during a fight on St-Laurent Boulevard in Ville-Marie around 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses told a nearby police patrol about the fight.

Police found the victim on the ground when they arrived on the scene of the incident.

“The victim was transported to hospital with a serious head injury,” said Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.

An 18-year-old man was arrested near the scene and Montreal police said he may face aggravated assault charges.

St-Laurent Boulevard between Sherbrooke and Ontario was closed until about 8 a.m. Tuesday.
