Andrew Prokop has been elected mayor during Monday’s municipal vote.
Prokop previously took over as mayor after Hank De Vlieger abruptly resigned at a council meeting in April 2017, citing friction between himself and town administration. However, his position was not an elected one, until Monday night.
As of 11:45 p.m., the following candidates had also been elected to council, according to preliminary results: Jack Brewin, Garth Bekkering, Carly Firth, Jo Strojwas, Mark Garner and Louie Tams.
