Manitoba woman shot in Las Vegas has emotional reunion with bartender who helped save her

Jan Lambourne said she wouldn’t be alive without the help of Las Vegas bartender Justin Uhart.

The pair were reunited again Wednesday, three days after Sunday’s horrific mass shooting that left 58 people dead and more than 500 injured.

Both broke down in tears as Uhart walked into the hospital room (where) and gave Lambourne a long hug.

“If it wasn’t for him, I would not be here,” Lambourne told CBS News from her hospital bed.

The Teulon, Man., woman was in Las Vegas with friend Jody Ansell when a lone gunman fired on the crowd gathered for the Route 91 Harvest country concert.

Ansell was hit in the arm, Lambourne in the stomach. Ansell was also rushed to hospital but is recovering.

Uhart found Lambourne lying on the ground and stayed with her.

“She was terrified,” Uhart said to CBS News.  “I was just asking her the silliest questions of her cats, where she was from, tell me about Canada,” he said.

He stayed with her as she was moved to a field with other victims and held her hand the entire time.

“She had a death grip… She was always saying ‘don’t leave me’ and I promised, I just promised I wouldn’t leave,”Uhart said.

Lambourne said it was a relief to see him again.

“It was a rough night for both of us,” she said.
