For the second time in a week, Lethbridge police are investigating a suspicious social media post that involves a city school.

Officers received word of a Snapchat image depicting a bag of bullets labelled “St. Francis Junior High” on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m.

LPS Officers attended to secure and search the south Lethbridge school, but said nothing suspicious was found.

At the time of the complaint, classes had ended for the day, but safety protocols were briefly put in place for anyone who was in the building.

The Snapchat image was traced to a north-side home, where police located and questioned a 13-year-old boy who attended the school.

Investigators found no weapons or ammunition and said there is no evidence to suggest any criminal intent.  They said the image shared was a stock photo from the internet.

LPS say the investigation was ongoing as of Tuesday night.

Last Wednesday, a suspicious Snapchat message prompted safety protocols to be put in place at Chinook High School.

An 18-year-old man is facing one charge in relation to that incident.
