Two people are in Saskatoon police custody after trying to evade patrol officers in a stolen vehicle.

The vehicle was first spotted by officers in the 700-block on 33rd Street West who recognized it as being stolen.

The officers waited for backup to arrive before trying to pull over the vehicle.

The driver refused to stop and led police on a chase.

It ended at Circle Drive and Attridge Drive when officers used stop sticks to disable the vehicle.

A 36-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman are facing numerous charges including vehicle theft and evading police.

They are scheduled to appear Tuesday morning in Saskatoon provincial court.
