Guelph police searching for minivan involved in hit and run

Guelph police are trying to track down the driver of a minivan involved in a hit and run on Monday morning near College Heights Secondary School and Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute.

Police said the minivan struck a pedestrian just before 9 a.m. on College Avenue West at Janefield Avenue.

The victim was treated in hospital for minor injuries and released. Police could not say if the pedestrian was a student at College Heights or Centennial CVI.

Police said the minivan took off after the collision and now investigators are looking for the driver.

They’re also asking any witnesses to come forward and call Const. Michael Powell at 519-824-1212 ext. 7206. Tips can also be left with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
