Braylon Shmyr scored twice, including the winner, as the Saskatoon Blades downed the Calgary Hitmen 5-4 in Western Hockey League (WHL) action on Saturday at SaskTel Centre.

Kirby Dach, Caleb Fantillo and Cameron Hebig also scored for Saskatoon (1-2-0).

Matteo Gennaro, Mark Kastelic, Jakob Stukel and Luke Coleman scored for the Hitmen (1-2-1).

Ryan Kubic made 19 saves for the Blades. Matthew Armitage turned away 24 shots for Calgary.

The Blades are back in action on Oct. 6 when they host the Swift Current Broncos.
